Live Stream Classes

The Language Explained

Group Courses

On this course you will join a group of other Lumix users to learn about the features of your camera, how to navigate the menu system and how to operate the camera’s external controls. Damien explains in straight-forward terms to ensure everyone understands, and you’ll have the chance to ask questions as you go along. These sessions are designed to be fun as well as informative, so you’ll enjoy the class while you learn about your camera. Photographers of all levels of experience will be welcome and the class will suit both those completely new to the Lumix system as well as those who have been users for some time.

Issues and choices will be discussed and explained from a practical perspective to make it clear what the features might be used for and how they could help you to improve your photography. Damien will ask what your interests are and if there is anything specific you struggle with, so he can tailor the workshop to the needs of the participants.

All through the session you will be able to ask questions and to chat with Damien directly through the video call. Damien will be using a professional video camera and microphones during the stream to ensure the picture and sound quality is optimised for your comfort. This will allow you to concentrate on what is being shown and said to you.

One-to-one lessons for Lumix cameras
One-To-One Sessions

Sign up for a one-hour one-to-one session and have the lesson tailored specifically to the features and functions you want to master. Get all your questions answered and discover the best ways to tackle the subjects you want to shoot. We can concentrate solely on what you want to learn, and Damien will explain in plain language how to achieve your aims.

These one-to-one sessions can cover anything you want, whether that’s specific features and functions of your camera or a full run down of the menu and best practices without other people being on the call.

Either way, you can be assured that you won’t leave the session having not understood what you were shown, as Damien will constantly check that you are following what he is saying and is happy to go over things as many times as is needed to make you comfortable with that feature.

And although you will learn a lot during the session it won’t be like being at school – we will have a laugh and it will be enjoyable.

Your tutor

These live stream courses are led by Damien Demolder. Damien has been in the photographic industry for over twenty years, testing cameras and lenses of all brands and levels. He worked at Amateur Photographer magazine for 16 years, where he was editor, and since writes for the world’s biggest photography website, www.dpreview.com, writes all the technical content for British Journal of Photography and is the editor of Panasonic’s Lumix Experience website.

Damien has been using Lumix cameras since the brand emerged, and has used every interchangeable lens model Panasonic has made since the DMC-L1. He conducts talks and workshops on using Lumix cameras with Panasonic UK, and in the last year conducted over 60 presentations and workshops about the Lumix system. He has every recent Lumix G and S model, as well as many LX, FZ and TZ cameras, and a wide collection of lenses to go with them.

As a reviewer it is Damien’s job to investigate what these cameras can do and to find the best way of making them shine, and that is exactly what he will share with you.

The price

A place on a group course costs £99. Included in this price is 5 and a half hours of live – not pre-recorded – training with Damien face-to-face via video in a small group of other Lumix users. Technical help to log on to the video calls will also be available beforehand, though the system has been chosen for its ease of use and flexibility.

One-to-one sessions also cost £99 for an hour and can deal with any subject you like, whether that is getting to know your camera or using it to tackle specific subject matter – such as macro photography, for example.

There are daytime and evening sessions and you’ll be able to pick a time that suits you – subject to availability of course.
